Top 6 Nonprofit Podcasts For Industry Professionals

 

When I'm working from home I always want to have something playing in the background, and my latest obsession has been nonprofit podcasts. They are a great way to learn more about your industry and also have some fun while working. There are a lot of great nonprofit centred podcasts out there but here are a few of my favourites. 

1.Whole Whale Podcast 

 
 
This podcast focuses on talking about technology and marketing that relates to nonprofit organizations. Their guest list includes Greenpeace, Lyft, Twilio.org, Crisis Text Line, Teach For America and so many others. Being a digital agency themselves, they break down marketing ideas and talk about the best ways to connect with your audience.   

2.Events with Benefits

 
 
This nonprofit podcast is designed to help you plan and execute amazing fundraising events. They talk about raising money, planning and invite guests from different sectors to share their experiences.  By listening to their episodes you can learn how to raise more money and achieve greater success at their fundraising events with less effort. It’s hosted by three event fundraising professionals and friends Danny Hooper, Ian Lauth, and Renee Zau who all have plenty of experience in the industry. 

3.The Smart Communications Podcast 

 
Like the title suggests, this is a podcast for nonprofit leaders who are looking to improve their communication skills. Each episode covers tips and strategies to help your nonprofit strengthen their voice and communicate your mission. They even cover technical skills like how to design without having a design background and how to record good audio. 

4.Nonprofits are Messy

 
 
Hosted by Joan Garry, Nonprofits Are Messy covers topics like the overhead myth, running special events, making big fundraising asks, and board-staff relations. The podcast is centered around stories about nonprofit leaders showing that nonprofits are messy, and people learn from their experiences both good and bad. 

5.Beyond the To-Do List

 
This podcast focuses on how to implement practical productivity strategies in our professional and personal lives. Erik Fisher hosts the podcast and talks about doing good work and how to live a meaningful life. This podcast will inspire you to live your best self by finding and excelling 

6.Fundraising Superheroes

 
This is our podcast! We have everyone from founders, managers of philanthropy, consultants, DoD’s and Executive Directors come on the show to share their stories and advice with you. What sets our podcast apart is we not only give industry advice on the show but share people’s stories.

I love hosting this podcast and have learned so much from every person who has been on the show. We cover everything from fundraising, donor relations, grants, sustainable funding and marketing.
